Hello -
I'm trying to cover a window in the basement. It's a glass block window, with a vent in the middle of it. I'm wondering the best way to approach this other than removing the block and adding foundation. I want to make the whole wall completely flush as that will house my projector screen.
- Do I treat the glass block as you would with an foundation wall and cover it with plastic?
- I know I should insulate it, but with which insulation? I wan't to prevent any potential condensation or handle it properly.
- Do I use the green drywall?
- Should I seal the hell out of that vent with something?
- Should I drywall over the glass block too?
- I'm thinking box the inside of the window with two by fours the depth of the new drywall, and then attach the drywall and mud & tape.
You obviously can't get out this window. It's for light and or air. There is another one of these windows about 6 feet back on the wall to the right - I will not be covering that one.
