I am looking to make a 45 degree cut that runs down the length of an 8' 2x4, as shown in the diagram I drew up below. Is there any easy way to do this? I tried making a few test cuts with a jigsaw on a shorter piece and got a decent result, but I don't think I will be able to do as well on a longer piece.
