DIY Noob, Can't figure out how to get these type of light bulbs out!

Hey,

http://imgur.com/sVDxyo8 I have these set of ceiling lights in my bedroom. I've looked online and videos have suggested that there is a clipped ring around the outside of the bulb that you can effectively clip out.

Short of nearly smashing the light I've not been able to pry out any seal around the outside of the bulb. Is there something else I'm obviously missing?
