First apartment, looking for DIY advice and ideas.

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>The apartment I&#39;m looking at has massive glass block windows from 1960 (possibly earlier, building was built in around 1906). </p> <p>My question is how do they fair in the cold/hot conditions as far as indoor temperature? The grout is nearly perfect still, and I didn&#39;t see any damage to the blocks. </p> <p>Also, what are some great ways to dress them up if you will? I&#39;ll upload an image of them as seen from the outside. </p> <p>It will be my first apartment and I&#39;m really looking forward to doing inexpensive DIY things to make it a nice place for my SO and I.
