I was thinking about taking apart a 12VDC to USB adapter and wiring the positive wire from the car's CIGARETTE LIGHTER POSITIVE (+) to the 12VDC-USB adapter. Basically my question is: IS IT OKAY TO WIRE MY 5 VOLT DEVICE IN PARALLEL WITH THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER? the wiring will all be hidden behind dash since its going to be permanent (no need for car interior mods) and I dont want to remove my car's cigarette lighter, just tap into its power. is that okay?</p> </div><!-- SC_ON --> submitted by
