Running a 3D printer on solar power. via glytchtech
So today I decided to run my 3d printer on solar power, and it works well
For the time being, Im using my 1kw modified sine wave power inverter connected to my 4 110ah deep cycle batteries (~5.5kwh) that are charged by a pair of 120w solar panels, ran through a rather crappy 3 stage charge controller (temporary)
Now I can run the printer off of 12v directly, rather than its current configuration of 120v from the inverter (at most, 95% efficient) feeding an ATX power supply (again, more efficiency loss) which then converts the power back down to 12v.
