Leather paint

Cosplayer April Gloria is working on pants for a Ciri costume from The Witcher, and she shared a post about how she weathered the pants. Leather — like any fabric or material — can be aged with the right tools. Since leather can be expensive, even if it’s of the vegan variety, you might not want to weather it by sanding or manipulating the material. Paint still changes the look, but you’re only simulating a texture rather than creating it. April Gloria used Angelus brand paint and is very happy with how it turned out. She used black, dark brown, and dark taupe and mentioned the paint doesn’t crack when the fabric is dried and stretched.

She also modified the pants by adding the studs. She said:

The studs are just metallic iron-on dots meant for t-shirts, but I glued them on with E6000 glue and they’re staying on really well. E6000 dries to a semi-rubbery consistency compared to super glue or similar glues so I thought it would be a good match for the stretch vinyl.
