[DIY Request] Repair ideas for the lacerated leather of one of the armchairs that have been longer in my family than i [34/m] have

Good evening, dear crafty people!

Here are three pics showing the damaged goods.

I'm german, so i may choose some odd words for the lack of knowing better.

This post is about the leather armchairs to which i have a very special bond. They have been there all my life, and i recently brought them from my parents place to mine, just because i always loved them and still do.

I have spent countless hours in them and i'm going to do that a lot more. Those chairs are figuratively butt-heaven! (figuratively is very hard to spell, btw!)

I know nothing about working with leather yet and would really like to know if you might have an idea how i could prevent further destruction while simultaneously preserving and honoring the *scar* itself (which i caused ~20 years ago -.- please don't tell my dad -.-).Kintsugi-style?

Thank you very much for reading this far and – of course – for any ideas and wisdom you are willing to share :D
