I have a relatively new (a year old or so) pair of skullcandy 50/50s. Recently, one of the earbuds has been coming loose from it's casing (the metal bit with the earpiece from the plastic that goes around it). Now, the smart thing to do would have been to glue it shut the first time it happened, i did not. I waited, and now the wires have broken off. the actual cable has 3 wires in it, a copper color, a red, and another slightly different copper color. I know the first copper goes on the top left solder point, and the red goes on the top right, but i never saw the third wire till i stripped the insulation later. I can solder fine, but when i touch the two wires to the points where they go, the earbud does not play, so i dont know if soldering will even fix it. What can i do?
EDIT: After messing with them for a bit, ive found that if i connect the wires to the "plate" underneath the solder mound, they play. Shouldn't the solder itself transfer the connection?
