I wish to build a secret compartment using a nightstand. The table top will have some designs on it and I wish to prompt the drawer to unlock when a magnet is placed on the top.

But, I don't really want to use any electrical components as they need a power source to run and are quite prone to error.
I looked into getting a baby safe magnetic lock; however, those are designed to be placed on the drawer and are unlocked by placing a magnet on the drawer you wish to pull out. I want the drawer to open when i place the magnet on the top of the table (as in the video), but the mechanism of the baby safe lock doesn't seem like it will allow for that.
Do you guys have any suggestions on the best way to make this happen?
