Friend of mine let me borrow his Titan Advantage 100 airless so I could spray a large wall at my workshop. Using exterior latex (it's what we had) and everything was going fine. Got most of the wall done and then started experiencing inconsistent flow/pattern in the stream.
I pulled the tip out and washed it out with hot water but kept having the same problem. Tried washing it out again until I could see light through through the tip. Eventually it would not even spray and as soon as I put the tip in it would clog immediately. It would get to the point where I could not even rotate the tip to try and reverse the stream. I had to unscrew the tip just to free it up because the pressure was so high it appears to have locked in place.
I gave up because it was late and began to wash out the machine. After pumping water without the tip I put the tip back on just to make sure it was still working. Pretty much had the same problem. Even water would not come out of the tip. If I reversed the tip water came out but if It was in the spray orientation it would have a completely skewed pattern and would eventually stop.
I have not tried cleaning out the inline filter (assuming there is one in the gun) Anyone offer some tips on how to fix this? Is the tip just ruined? Seems strange that water wont' even flow through it. Tip size is 515
