Buying or making stormtrooper armor isn’t an inexpensive endeavor. The custom or pre-made routes will both set you back dollars. If you’re considering a set of armor for a kid, you might want to consider modifying the pieces that come with Jakks’ 48 inch First Order stormtrooper figure released for The Force Awakens. Kids tend to grow pretty quickly, and it’s better to spend $99 plus the cost of supplies on armor that won’t fit in a year instead of throwing down hundreds of dollars. I’ve seen a couple of builds using the toy’s plastic pieces. We featured Psicorp7’s design previously, and this pink build by Jim Brock just came across my inbox.
Brock didn’t share build details, but he likely followed similar steps to Psicorp7. The bright pink paint job adds a personalized touch, and I love the way the sneakers look with the costume. Hopefully seeing this will inspire some of you — if nothing else, it makes me want to get one of the toys so I can try my hand at doing a custom paint job.
