We baught a house 3 months ago. Fridge is not directly plugged to a gfci outlet but an outlet connected to that gfci. About a week ago the fridge has been tripping the gfci. Sometimes it takes a full day or two. Sometimes immediately. The only thing on that circuit also tied to gfci is a water cooler wich we baught a month ago. I currently have the fridge on a regular outet and plugged something in its place and the gfci has not tripped and the fridge is running. I'm thinking of just changing the gfci to a regular outlet. The hfci is on the kitchen counter but more than 6 feet from sink. Is this the correct thing to do?
