Remove Glue from Desk

Hi there,

I left my laundry drying on a desk overnight, and when I woke up there was a white residue on the wood under all the damp clothes. First I thought it was the laundry powder but I think it's the glue from the wood.

How can I remove this? It seems to be quite stubborn.
