I was recently given a 3'Wx2'H oak stump by a neighbor, and I'm planning on making a coffee table out of it (I'm not sure yet if I want to just use the whole piece as a table or make a multi-tiered table out of slices) but I don't know what the easiest way will be to level and clean up the surface (the chainsaw chewed it up a bit). Can I easily get this project done myself with a rental or two from home depot, or should I just try to find a woodworking shop that will do the cutting for me?
